AT CAMP

Protocol subject to change

MASK WEARING

  • Campers in grades 1 and above will be required to wear masks on buses and indoors

  • Staff will be required to wear masks at all times including on buses, indoors and outdoors

DAILY COVID-19 SCREENING

  • Families busing to camp will be screened by staff at their bus depot

  • Families driving to camp will be screened by staff before entering the facility. Pick-up and drop-off will take place outdoors

  • Screenings will include Ontario Ministry of Health Covid-19 survey questions and temperature checks

  • Staff will be screened by head staff

BUSING

  • Campers and staff will be required to wear masks on the bus

  • Siblings and cohorts will be seated together in assigned seats

  • Every other seat will be blocked off where applicable

  • Windows will be opened

  • Seats and surfaces will be disinfected regularly

AT CAMP

  • The majority of camp activities will take place outdoors

  • Bunks will function independently as separate cohorts

  • Consistent cohorts will be maintained for the duration of each camp session

  • Cohorts will have separate spaces and use designated equipment (balls, loose equipment)

  • Shared equipment like balance beams or art room tables for example will be cleaned and disinfected between cohort use

  • Social distancing measures will be implemented wherever possible indoors and outdoors

  • Hand washing stations using soap and water will be readily accessible and encouraged frequently

  • Hand sanitizing dispensers will be available throughout the facility and outdoors

  • Bathrooms, shared areas (i.e. hallways) and bunk spaces will be cleaned and disinfected regularly by a full-time custodian

  • Water fountains will be used for refilling water bottles and disposable cups only

REPORTING OF PROBABLE OR CONFIRMED CASES OF COVID-19

  • Any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the day camp (staff or campers) will be reported to the local public health unit to support case management and contact tracing

  • The local public health unit will provide individual direction on testing and isolation of close contacts of a case

  • The local public health unit will determine next steps of camp participants or staff who have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19

  • The local medical officer of health or their designate will declare when the outbreak is over
